CIA reveals a report talking about Bashar al-Assad and the future of Syria
The CIA revealed a new intelligence report on global threats to the United States, in which it talked about Bashar al-Assad and the future of the war in Syria.
The agency said in its report, that the war in Syria will continue in the coming years, indicating that this will exacerbate the humanitarian and economic crisis in the country.
The agency confirmed that Bashar al-Assad will stop the negotiation processes of importance and will depend on the support of Iran and Russia.
The agency added that the Iranian militias and the allies of the Assad regime will represent a threat to the American forces in Syria, noting that if the American soldiers withdraw from Syria, the Kurds will face pressure from the Assad regime and Turkey.
The agency stressed in its report that Iran is determined to remain and expand its influence in Syria, pointing out that Russia is using the Syrian and Libyan files to strengthen its global influence and undermine the American leadership.
It is noteworthy that former US President Donald Trump stated on more than one occasion that his country’s forces are in Syria to protect oil wells only.
