Managing Bab al-Hawa crossing : The crossing is closed due to the complete ban in Turkey due to the Corona epidemic

The Bab al-Hawa border crossing administration announced the closure of the crossing for travelers to and from Turkey, starting from Friday, April 30, until May 16.

Mazen Alloush, Director of Public Relations at the Bab al-Hawa crossing to Farsh, explained that the Bab al-Hawa crossing was closed to travelers to and from Turkey due to the Corona epidemic, as Turkey announced Monday night a complete ban in the country in anticipation of the Corona virus, and that the border crossings will be closed during this
Duration in line with the stated ban.

The ban that Turkey announced yesterday, Sunday, is considered the longest since the spread of the Corona epidemic in Turkey, as the Turkish authorities have been imposing a curfew on Saturday and Sunday at the end of every week only, and it comes after the increasing numbers of Coronavirus infections in most Turkish states.

Al-Aloush stated that the procedures for entering Turkey for patients will also stop during the period of the ban for non-urgent cases, as the crossing administration will give new appointments for patients who had roles during this period, after the completion of this closure.

Al-Aloush confirmed that the traffic of commercial and relief trucks and United Nations convoys will remain normal during the closure period.

The Bab al-Hawa crossing witnesses daily movement of Syrian travelers, and hundreds of patients with serious diseases, such as cancer, war injuries and others who are treated in Turkish hospitals.
The Bab al-Hawa crossing is the only internationally recognized gateway for the entry of humanitarian aid into the northwestern regions of Syria, after Russian pressure in the Security Council led to the closure of the rest of the crossings.
