66 new cases of coronavirus were recorded in northern Syria
The Epidemiological Surveillance Laboratory of the Early Warning and Epidemic Response Network Program at the Support Coordination Unit announced the registration of 66 cases of coronavirus, in northern Syria.
The network concerned with monitoring the outcome of Corona in northern Syria indicated that the registration of new infections raised the total number to 23,980, the recovery cases were 20,836, and 676 deaths.
The Network confirmed that the number of cases tested was 499, bringing the total number of cases tested to 140,616 in northern Syria.
The team of response coordinators in Syria warned against the continued registration of HIV infections in the camps, and said that it “increases the risks of the camps becoming a center for spreading the epidemic, and significantly increases pressure on humanitarian response operations in the region.”
It is worth noting that the camps for the displaced continue to record high rates of infections, as 232 were recorded during the period between May 20 and June 4, bringing the total cases recorded within the camps to 2,587 cases, equivalent to 10.82 percent of the total cases recorded in the region.
