The National Coalition calls on the international community to take a firm stand against the Syrian Democratic Forces
Today, Sunday, the National Coalition said in a statement that the international community must take a firm stand against the violations of the Assad regime and the Syrian Democratic Forces, after targeting areas in Idlib countryside by the Assad regime, and the city of Afrin with bombing by the Syrian Democratic Forces.
The statement clarified that the Syrian Democratic Forces have a radical relationship with the Assad regime, as they reproduce the crimes and violations committed by the regime with the support of Russia and Iran over the past years.
The statement added that the international community must correct its stance towards the Syrian Democratic Forces, and cut off financial and military funding for any organization that commits massacres against civilians in Syria.
The statement stressed its rejection and denunciation of the silent countries’ positions on the crimes of these “organizations,” calling for “the abolition, dismantling and expulsion of all terrorist groups and militias and the expulsion of all foreign fighters from Syria.”
Yesterday, Saturday, northwestern Syria witnessed a dangerous escalation of military attacks that extended from the southern countryside of Idlib to the city of Afrin, adjacent to the countryside of Aleppo, targeting residential neighborhoods, medical facilities and members of humanitarian teams.
According to a report by the Syrian Civil Defense, this escalation led to the killing and wounding of 79 civilians, including medical personnel, volunteers in humanitarian organizations and rescue teams.
