WHO condemns the attack on Al-Shifa Hospital in Afrin, in the northern countryside of Aleppo
The World Health Organization strongly condemned the attack on a hospital in Afrin, northwest Syria, on Saturday.
In a report published on its official website, the World Health Organization urged all parties to the conflict in northwest Syria to respect the safety and impartiality of health workers and health facilities.
“Protecting the health, well-being and lives of health care workers and resources is critical to enabling a better response to health needs,” the report continued.
Last Saturday, the Syrian Democratic Forces targeted the city of Afrin with rocket-propelled grenades, killing more than 19 civilians, including medical staff, and more than 60 injuries, in addition to the out of service of Al-Shifa Hospital, due to its direct targeting.
