72 UN trucks loaded with humanitarian aid arrive in northern Syria
Yesterday, Wednesday, the United Nations sent 72 trucks loaded with humanitarian aid to Idlib governorate and its countryside, northwest Syria.
The aid convoy entered from the “Gilo Gozo” crossing in Hatay province, southern Turkey, opposite the “Bab al-Hawa” crossing from the Syrian side, and humanitarian aid will be distributed to needy and displaced people in Idlib and its countryside.
The United Nations has estimated that cross-border aid accounts for up to 50% of all cross-border deliveries of humanitarian aid.
While 4.2 million people in northwest Syria (more than 75% of the population) need humanitarian assistance, cross-border aid reaches 85% of these people every month.
