Syrian Response coordination Group documents the violations of the Assad regime and Russia in June
The Syria Response Coordination Group documented 411 violations by the forces of the Assad regime and Russia in northwestern Syria during the month of June 2021, at a time when the region is witnessing a massive military escalation of artillery and air bombardment.
The Group documented the number of civilian casualties, which amounted to 31 civilians (13 children, 4 women, 12 men, 2 humanitarian cadres), and 16 targeted facilities and infrastructure were targeted, in addition to the displacement of more than 2,862 people (children and women represent 70%).
The Syrian Civil Defense Foundation, “White Helmets”, said in an official statement that the crimes committed by the forces of the Assad regime and Russia coincided with the escalation that the Syrians have become accustomed to prior to any international meeting regarding the Syrian issue, so that their messages in negotiation are written with the blood of innocents and pass through the remains of children and women, and this proves to the world that Russia and the Assad regime can never be on the edge of peace, as they only master killing, destruction and displacement.
The Syrian Civil Defense Foundation pointed out that the threat to end the ceasefire in parallel with Russia’s threat to use its veto against extending the mandate of the cross-border aid mechanism to more than 4 million civilians and collective punishment for them, proves that the safest and clearest way to end the Syrians’ tragedy is embodied in a comprehensive political solution in accordance with Security Council Resolution 2254, which begins by stopping the attacks of the Assad regime and Russia on civilians in northwestern Syria, to forcibly return the displaced to their homes, and to prosecute the perpetrators of war crimes and crimes against humanity.
