Today, Saturday, Russian warplanes launched air strikes on several areas of Idlib and Latakia governorates, in conjunction with artillery shelling by the Assad regime forces.

Our correspondent said that the Russian warplanes targeted, with an air strike, the outskirts of Joseph village in Jabal Al-Zawiya, in conjunction with artillery shelling by the Assad regime forces, which targeted the villages of Benin and Al-Fatirah and the outskirts of Ihsem in the southern countryside of Idlib.

The reporter added that the Russian warplanes launched two air raids with vacuum missiles on the axis of Tell Al-Khader, in conjunction with the targeting of the Assad regime forces with artillery shells, on the Al-Tuffahiya axis, without reports of injuries.

This comes after the end of the “16” round of Astana meetings, which were held on Wednesday and Thursday, in the capital of Kazakhstan, Nur-Sultan, in the presence of the delegations of the guarantor countries (Turkey, Russia and Iran), the delegations of the opposition, the Assad regime, the UN envoy to Syria Geir Pedersen, and countries neighboring Syria.

And the final statement, which was reported by the Russian news agency Sputnik on Thursday, July 8, stated that the guarantor countries “emphasize the maintenance of calm in Idlib,” and “emphasize the full implementation of all existing agreements in this province.”
