Lebanese General Security announces new decisions allowing Syrians to enter Lebanon
The Lebanese General Security announced new decisions that allow Syrians to enter Lebanon through the Masnaa and Aboudiya border posts.
According to the issued decision, Syrians who have valid residency permits in Lebanon, and Syrians who have temporary residency for a period of 6 months, are allowed several trips, exit and return, at a rate of 100 people, through each border post, on Wednesday of every week from nine in the morning until four.
The decision clarified that all of them must have a negative PCR examination issued by laboratories accredited by the Ministry of Health to the Assad regime for a period not exceeding 96 hours from the date of their arrival, in addition to a health insurance policy to cover treatment for the Corona virus during his stay in Lebanon, and another PCR examination is repeated. They are at the border post upon their arrival by the Ministry of Health teams, and they are committed to home quarantine until the results of the tests are issued.”
The General Security allowed Syrians coming to review foreign and Arab embassies operating in Lebanon to enter throughout the week, provided that they have valid passports, a written document issued by the embassy that will be reviewed, in addition to a negative PCR examination of no more than 96 hours.
As for the people who will review the Turkish Embassy, the Lebanese General Security has specified that the documents be issued by the “Visa for the globe VPG” company contracting with the Turkish Embassy.
It also allowed the Syrians coming for medical treatment with two people at most, and exclusively by the assets or branches of the stakeholders, if they were going to visit a hospital or a doctor and set a condition for their possession of a written medical report proving this in addition to the PCR examination and gave them 48 hours with a maximum leave statement.
As for those who left Lebanon for Syria with a negative PCR test, they were allowed to return with the same document within a period not exceeding 72 hours from the date of the test result’s issuance, without the need for another test in Syria.
Estimated statistics indicate that there are about one and a half million Syrian refugees in Lebanon, including one million refugees registered with the UNHCR, most of whom live in camps and in difficult living conditions.
