Daraa Al-Balad Committee reveals details about ending the military campaign in the region

The spokesman for Daraa al-Balad Committee in southern Syria, Adnan al-Masalmeh, revealed new details about the “solution map” put forward by the Russians to end the military campaign launched by the Assad regime forces and its militias in the region.

A spokesman for Daraa al-Balad Committee said that “publishing the terms of the solution map does not mean the committee’s approval of it, but rather it is their duty to inform everyone about it.”

Al-Masalma added that “the items proposed by the Russian side are subject to consultation and deliberation for all,” adding, “We are the most rejecting any item that affects the security and dignity of our people.”

Al-Masalma explained that a coordination center has been formed in charge of organizing and conducting negotiations and talks to find a solution in Daraa Al-Balad on the peaceful side, supervising the situation and monitoring the implementation of the road plan.

The terms of the “Russian solution” in Daraa al-Balad included the following:
-Handing over heavy, medium and light weapons and conducting a security settlement for the “militants.”
Expel the “militants” to the de-escalation zone in Idlib.

-Searching for wanted persons who have not settled their situation.
-Searching for arms and ammunition depots in Daraa al-Balad.
-Organizing joint patrols of the Assad regime’s intelligence and the Russian police in the vicinity of Daraa al-Balad.
-Re-work of the “authority-executing agencies” to Daraa al-Balad.
– Settling the situation of the defectors by sending them to their military units, while ensuring that there is no prosecution.
-Settling the status of those who have left military service and giving them a grace period (if necessary).
-Establishing checkpoints in the vicinity of Daraa and regulating the passage of civilians.
– Providing job opportunities for former militants in the first place and their families.
-Providing the conditions for declaring an amnesty for the former “militants”.

The forces of the Assad regime and the militias supporting it have continued to impose their siege on the neighborhoods of Daraa al-Balad and the Al-Sad Road neighborhood, since last June 24, and prevent the entry of food and medical supplies, in conjunction with the interruption of bread, medicine and infant formula.
