The National Army thwarts an infiltration attempt by the Syrian Democratic Forces towards Azaz city
Yesterday, the Syrian National Army thwarted an attempt by the Syrian Democratic Forces to infiltrate to the front lines towards Azaz city from the Tal-Rifaat area in Aleppo northern countryside.
The Unified Command Room – Azm said in a statement that it had thwarted an infiltration attempt by the Syrian Democratic Forces on “Kafr Khasher” front in Aleppo northern countryside, and added that it had achieved direct casualties in their ranks.
The Unified Command Room “Azm” added that clashes between the two sides lasted for more than an hour, which led to cutting off the Al-Shat-Afrin checkpoint, in order to ensure civilians’ safety, to be opened after the end of the clashes, without changing the map of control.
It is noteworthy that on the 21st of last month, the National Army repelled a joint infiltration attempt between the forces of the Assad regime and the Syrian Democratic Forces on the Marea front in Aleppo northern countryside.
Turkish forces are deployed in several areas of northern Syria in the Spring of Peace, the Euphrates Shield, the Olive Branch and the Spring Shield, and they have been subjected to previous incidents in which a number of soldiers were killed or wounded.
