Merkel regrets that the Syrian Constitutional Committee is not working well
German Chancellor Angela Merkel expressed, in a joint press conference, held with Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, her regret that the work of the Syrian Constitutional Committee under the auspices of the United Nations did not go well, and pointed out that the situation in Idlib is still tense.
The German chancellor said that the European Union will continue to support Turkey in the file of prevention the irregular migration, pointing out that Ankara has done very important work with regard to Syrian refugees and migrants.
The Turkish president thanked Mrs. Merkel “for her sincere efforts for the resolution of the Syrian crisis.”
He pointed out that Turkey continues its efforts to build brick houses on the Syrian side to house the needy, and has completed the construction of 60,000 houses to date.
Yesterday, Saturday, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan met German Chancellor Angela Merkel at the Huber Villa in Istanbul, where the bilateral meeting lasted about an hour.
