Kuwaiti YouTuber raises $ 1 million to help refugees
Kuwaiti YouTuber and well-known content creator “Abu Fella” managed to raise one million dollars during the charitable campaign he launched to help refugees before the onset of winter.
“This campaign was launched to meet the needs of thousands of refugee and displaced families during the winter season, and one million dollars was collected in a live broadcast on YouTube that lasted for 30 hours,” Abu Fella said, on his Twitter account.
Millions of people around the world watched the live broadcast launched by “Abu Fella” yesterday, Saturday, while the number of donors reached more than 30,000.
The campaign bears the slogan “Warm Their Hearts” and was launched by the Kuwaiti YouTuber in cooperation with the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees.
“Abu Fella” launched the campaign in cooperation and partnership with the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees, and UNHCR said in a statement published on its official website: “Belief in the societal role, Abu Falla, one of the most popular video players in the Arab world, and owner of the largest growing YouTube channel in the world, decided to dedicate his efforts to support humanitarian causes”.
UNHCR added that, in recognition of his crossing the 20 million mark. A subscriber to his channel, “He decided to launch a joint campaign with the UNHCR to provide the needs of thousands of refugee and displaced families during the winter season.”
Yesterday, Saturday, “Abu Fella” launched, via live broadcast on YouTube, the “Warm Their Hearts” campaign to raise one million dollars to provide winter relief to about 6,000 refugee and displaced families.
