The number of COVID-19 cases have decreased significantly in northwestern Syria
Yesterday, more than 90 new COVID-19 cases were recorded in northwestern Syria , bringing the total number of infections to 90,942 since the start of the pandemic.
According to the report issued by the Epidemiological Surveillance Laboratory of the Early Warning Network, 95 cases of coronavirus were recorded on the fifteenth of this month, after 579 new analyses were conducted, while the number of recovery cases rose to 57,601 after 591 recovery cases were recorded.
The infections were distributed among the cities and towns of Idlib governorate, so that the governorate recorded 65 infections, 23 cases in Idlib city and its suburbs, while the cities and towns of the northern and eastern Aleppo countryside recorded 30 cases, 11 of them in the Afrin region.
In the past hours, 3 deaths related to coronavirus were recorded, bringing the number of deaths to 2015, since the virus began spreading in northwestern Syria, according to the epidemiological surveillance laboratory.
The northwestern region of Syria has been witnessing a gradual decrease in the number of infections for days, after two consecutive months of the accelerated spread of the virus and its causing a major deficit in the health sector.
Despite the decrease in the number of infections in the liberated areas, medical authorities are still calling on citizens to receive the Corona vaccine and to follow personal and public prevention methods in order to avoid an increase in numbers in the future.
It is noteworthy that the total number of analyses that have been carried out by the epidemiological surveillance laboratory in northwestern Syria has reached 309,809 since the pandemic outbreak in the middle of last year.
