Turkish Foreign Minister: Turkey pays great consideration to the cease-fire in Idlib
Turkish Foreign Minister, Mevlüt Çavuşoğlu, said yesterday: ”Turkey pays great consideration to the continuation of the cease-fire in Idlib governorate, northwestern Syria, despite the violation of the agreement by Russia and the Assad regime.”
Çavuşoğlu clarified in a press interview yesterday that his country will continue its struggle against the terrorist organizations operating in Syria during the coming period. Ankara views the solution in Syria is a political one, noting that Turkey agrees with the United States of America on many regional and international issues.
Çavuşoğlu pointed out that there are deep points of disagreement between Washington and Ankara, and on top of these differences are the American attitudes towards the Gulen Movement and the Syrian Democratic Forces, as Washington supports these organizations in Syria.
The Turkish Foreign Minister said these statement hours after the Assad regime forces committed a massacre in Maarat al-Naasan town in eastern Idlib countryside. Four children were killed with artillery shelling targeting the town while they were on their way to their school in a continuation of violating the ceasefire agreement in the area.
