Covid-19 infections and recoveries have decreased in northern Syria
The Early Warning Network announced that Covid-19 recoveries reached 100,454 after 11 new cases were recorded in northwestern Syria. While the region recorded 2 new cases on the same day, bringing the total number of infections to 102,884, according to the latest statistic released by the Epidemiological Surveillance Laboratory.
There were no deaths reported by the Laboratory, with the death toll remaining at 2459.
The laboratory conducted 103 Covid-19 tests, bringing the total number of analyzes to 373,897 in northern Syria.
During the second half of the last year, the medical sector in northwestern Syria suffered from serious pressures due to the Covid-19 rapid spread and the shortage of medical staff resulted from the increasing number of infections and deaths and the poor capabilities.
The health authorities are still warning of the Covid-19 rapid spread again in the region after the emergence of infections related to the new mutant “Omicron”, amid demands for citizens to fully adhere to preventive measures, wear masks , and receive a Covid- 19 vaccination.
