Covid-19 infections and recoveries have decreased in northern Syria
The Early Warning Network announced that Covid-19 recoveries reached 100,467 after 8 new cases were recorded in northwestern Syria. While the region recorded 2 new cases on the same day, bringing the total number of infections to 102,889, according to the latest statistic released by the Epidemiological Surveillance Laboratory.
There were no deaths reported by the Laboratory, with the death toll remaining at 2471.
The laboratory conducted 190 Covid-19 tests, bringing the total number of analyzes to 374,354 in northern Syria.
The number of infections in the “Peace spring” region rose to 13,307, after two new infections were recorded. The number of recoveries reached 13,73, while no deaths were recorded, keeping the total number of deaths at 90.
During the second half of the last year, the medical sector in northwestern Syria suffered from serious pressures due to the Covid-19 rapid spread and the shortage of medical staff resulted from the increasing number of infections and deaths and the poor capabilities.
