US Ambassador to the UN will visit Turkey to discuss the file of humanitarian aid to Syria
U.S. Ambassador to the United Nations Linda Thomas-Greenfield plans to visit Turkey soon to meet the humanitarian partners to discuss the file of cross-border humanitarian aid delivery into Syria.
The visit comes during her conversations with journalists at the United Nations in New York city, yesterday, in which she said: “I will travel to Turkey in the coming days to get briefings and meetings with the humanitarian partners and UN officials in the region.”
Greenfield confirmed that “we must renew and expand the mandate to provide healthy food, potable water, medicines and vaccines to millions of people in Syria before July 10.
It is noteworthy that the mechanism of humanitarian aid delivery through Bab al-Hawa border crossing approved by the International Security Council last year, which serves more than 3 millions in northwestern Syria, will expire on the tenth of next July.
