The Syrian Coalition: The Syrian Democratic Forces have been serving the Assad regime for years
The head of the Syrian National Coalition, Salem al-Meslet, confirmed that the Syrian Democratic Forces have been working to serve the Assad regime for years.
Al-Meslet tweeted yesterday: “The repeated hostile acts against the freed territories and raising Assad regime’s flag in Tel Rifaat leave no doubt that the Syrian Democratic Forces are hostile to the Syrian people and have long been serving the regime and resorting to it for help whenever they sense danger.”
The Turkish “Anadolu” agency announced in a report last Sunday that the Syrian Democratic Forces are hiding behind Assad regime’s flag in the city of Tal Rifaat in Aleppo countryside, and indicated that the footage it took showed that the Syrian Democratic Forces used Assad regime’s flag at the highest point in the city of Tal Rifaat in Aleppo countryside, northern Syria.
The head of the Syrian Democratic Forces Council, Riad Darar, had previously said that the Syrian Democratic Forces will stand by the Assad regime forces against any aggression.
Darar said: “We have never stood before the Assad regime in the event of an external aggression on Syrian territory, and the Syrian Democratic Forces will fight with the Assad regime against any external aggression on Syria.”
The Syrian Democratic Forces took control of Tal Rifaat city in February 2016. Turkey and the National Army factions accuse the Syrian Democratic Forces of using Tal Rifaat and the surrounding villages as a launch pad for carrying out attacks on the safe areas formed by Turkish military operations in Syria.
