Israel threatens the Assad regime and Iran from any military action in southern Syria
The Israeli interim prime minister, Yair Lapid, warned yesterday both Iran and the Assad regime due to their positions on Israeli borders in Syria and Lebanon.
The warning came through a press statement by Lapid on the second day of his assumption of office saying, “From Gaza to Tehran, from the coast of Lebanon to Syria — do not test us. Israel will know how to use its force in face of any threat or enemy.”
He stressed, “Iran is still the greatest threat to Israel, and we will do whatever it takes to prevent Iran from obtaining the nuclear weapon or stationing its troops on our borders.”
On June 7, the Israeli army warned the Hezbollah militia in Syria and Lebanon against any possible escalation or the outbreak of an imminent war, saying that Israel “will not leave one stone upon another” at that time.
It is noteworthy that, for years, Israel has launched hundreds of airstrikes in Syria, targeting Assad regime’s sites, Iranian targets, and others for the Lebanese Hezbollah militia.
