The presidents of Turkey and Russia arrive in Tehran to hold the tripartite summit
Iranian state TV reported that Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan and the Russian President Vladimir Putin have arrived in the Iranian capital, Tehran, for participating in the tripartite summit with Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi to discuss the Syrian file.
Iran will host the seventh Astana-format summit with the presence of presidents of the three countries of the Astana peace process guarantors (Iran, Russia and Turkey). The summit will address a number of mutual interest’s issues, primarily the Syrian case and the repercussions of the Ukrainian crisis.
The state TV added that the seventh summit of the three guarantor states of Astana talks will be held in the presence of President Ebrahim Raisi, where an official reception ceremony will be held for President Putin and Erdogan, each separately, at the Cultural Historical Complex of Saadabad.
The Iranian President officially received today his Turkish counterpart, Recep Tayyip Erdogan, at the Saadabad Palace in Tehran during an official reception ceremony, and the national anthems of both countries were played.
The Turkish presidency announced the last Sunday that President Recep Tayyip Erdogan will hold two meetings with his Iranian and Russian counterparts. Erdogan also participate in the tripartite meeting of the leaders of guarantor states of Astana process on Syria.
