Washington discusses the developments of the Syrian file with Turkey and Saudi Arabia
US Deputy Assistant Secretary of State for Syria and the Levant, Ethan Goldrich, discussed the Syrian file with the Turkish Deputy Foreign Minister Sedat Onal.
This discussion came after the United States announced holding separate talks with Turkey, Saudi Arabia, and Egypt concerning the Syrian file and the political process on July 29.
Goldrich and Onal affirmed the commitment of the United States and Turkey to work together to achieve the common goals in Syria. The two sides discussed the need to maintain stability in the region.
While Goldrich discussed with the Undersecretary of the Saudi Ministry of Foreign Affairs for Political Affairs, Saud AlSati, the Syrian developments, stressing the commitment to a lasting political solution to the crisis in Syria.
Goldrich had held talks with the UN envoy to Syria, Geir Pedersen, on the latest developments of the political process, but it continues without progress or any political change in Syria.
