Syria Civil Defense (White Helmets): The international community must take serious steps to stop the killing in Syria
The Syrian Civil Defense (The White Helmets) called on yesterday the international community to take urgent action and steps to stop the killing in Syria, and hold Assad regime and Russia accountable for their crimes.
The Civil defense posted on its official “Facebook” account, affirming that Assad regime and Russia have been escalating the shelling on Aleppo western countryside and Idlib southern countryside. They have also been targeting the civilian houses, vehicles, and properties causing deaths, injuries, and material damage with the aim of spreading panic and imposing a state of instability in the region.
The Civil Defense warned of a looming humanitarian catastrophe that would deepen the endless needs gap in the displacement camps, if the escalation continues at this pace, which portends more tragedies experienced by civilians in northwestern Syria.
Russian warplanes previously committed a massacre in Idlib countryside on Friday, July 22, killing 7 civilians, including 4 children from the same family, and wounding 13 others, including 8 children, by targeting a poultry farm on the outskirts of al-Jadida village in the western Idlib countryside.
The countryside of Idlib, Aleppo and Hama has been witnessing an intense escalation carried out by the Assad regime and its Russian ally for 15 days, killing and injuring dozens of civilians.
