The concluding statement of the 31st Arab Summit hosted by Algeria affirmed the need for Arab countries to play a collective leadership role to contribute to reach a political solution to the Syrian crisis in accordance with the UN Security Council Resolution No. 2254.
Kuwaiti Crown Prince Mishal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah said: “The only solution to end the Syrian people’s tragedy is a political solution in accordance with UN Security Council Resolution 2254, stressing that a military solution is excluded in all its forms.”
Iraqi president Abdul Latif Rashid pointed out that his country is keen to preserve Syria’s sovereignty and territorial integrity and to continue with the political dialogue to resolve the Syrian crisis.
Egyptian President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi pointed that the Arabs still need more collective action in Libya, Syria, Yemen, Iraq and Sudan.
The “Algeria Declaration” agreement stressed “the necessity of establishing a Middle East Zone Free of Nuclear Weapons and Mass Destruction Weapons,” referring to Israel.
The concluding statement, after two days of meetings and words of leaders, entitled the “Algeria Declaration”, indicated the need for Arab countries to play a collective role to reach a political solution to the Syrian crisis.
