The Syria Cross‐border Humanitarian Fund (SCHF) allocates $50 million for the humanitarian response following the earthquake disaster
The Syria Cross‐border Humanitarian Fund (SCHF) has launched a series of Reserve Allocations to respond to those affected by the earthquake in northwest Syria.
The Fund has allocated $50 million for humanitarian response, and it will be distributed in two phases. The allocation in the first phase will be $30 million focusing on lifesaving immediate response.
The allocation in the second phase will be $20 million focusing on lifesaving and life sustaining.
The United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA) issued a statement saying that Social Housing Infrastructure Fund partners are determined to provide aid for the first three to six months, focusing on the second phase, and allocating the second reserve for the medium-term response.
The UN Deputy Special Envoy to Syria, Najat Rushdi, said earlier that the earthquake in all Syrian cities affected more than eight million Syrian people, pointing out that the majority of civilians need humanitarian response.
