U.S. Department of Defence: Our strikes against Iran in Syria and Iraq are a very strong message
Deputy Pentagon Press Secretary, Sabrina Singh, said that the airstrikes carried out by US forces against Iran-linked military targets in Syria and Iraq were a very strong message, led to halting the attacks carried out by Iran-backed militias against the US bases in the two countries (Syria and Iraq).
Singh added in a press conference that the US bases in Syria and Iraq have not been attacked since February 4th.
Singh confirmed that Washington welcomed that no attacks have occurred since February 4th, and it sent a very strong message through its strikes in Syria and Iraq.
Singh continued that “the US will continue launching airstrikes if necessary and at the time and place of its choosing.”
The US newspaper “The Hill” had previously said that US strikes on Iranian militias in Syria were superficial, and did not prevent airstrikes on US bases in the Middle East.
The newspaper called on Biden administration to take a stronger stance by hitting Iran in Syria.
The newspaper emphasized the need to take Iranian movements in the Middle East seriously, by targeting this axis in Syria without causing a regional war.
