UN allocates $30 million to support the most vulnerable Syrians
Syria Humanitarian Fund (SHF) allocates $30 million to support life-saving response and sustainable aids based on boosting the resilience of the most vulnerable population who live in the areas of the highest needs in Syria.
The UN Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA) said in a statement on Monday that the allocation aims to provide integrated aids for the targeted people, including completing the food security, health, water, sanitation, and hygiene interventions in the framework of dedicating the Central Emergency Response Fund (CERF) for 2024, which was suffering fund shortages.
The statement added that the allocation will promote Cash and Voucher Assistance (CVA) with the aim of channeling at least 15% to support the aid programs based on cash, including the multi-purpose cash or sector specified cash assistance.
According to the statement, the allocation will contribute to improving access to humanitarian aid by targeting 10% of the population living in hard-to-reach areas.
