KSrelief signs a joint program to establish 300 housing units for earthquake-affected people in northern Aleppo
The King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center (KSrelief) signed a joint executive program to support establishing 300 temporary housing units for earthquake-affected people in Jandairis area in northern Aleppo.
The project includes those affected by the earthquake in the camps of al-Baraka, Muslim, and Aya in Jandairis area in Aleppo province, pointing out that 300 families will benefit, totaling 1,330 individuals, according to SPA news agency.
The agency made it clear that the fabric tents for those affected by the earthquake in the targeted camps will be replaced by temporary housing units, consisting of two rooms, a hall, a kitchen, and a bathroom, covering an area of 30 square meters.
Moreover, 300 solar energy systems and 300 water tanks with a capacity of 500 liters will be installed, along with a sewage network for the housing units.
The agency pointed out that the project comes as an extension of the efforts of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia provided through the King Salman Relief Center to secure basic needs and provide decent safe shelter for families affected by the earthquake in Syria.
The agency stated that the Kingdom seeks to improve the living conditions of those affected by the earthquake by providing safe and healthy housing instead of the temporary tents, relying on sustainable solutions such as solar energy systems and sewage networks.
The King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center signed an agreement last May to renovate 743 homes for families affected by the earthquake in the city of Al-Bab in Aleppo countryside, in cooperation with a civil society organization in Syria, benefiting more than 4,500 people. The renovations include the provision of new water tanks and ventilation systems.
It is noteworthy that the King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center is implementing many projects to support Syrians inside Syria in addition to refugees in Jordan, Lebanon and other countries, including health care, food security, education and housing.
