The “Deterrence of Aggression” and “Dawn of Freedom” operations advance in the countryside of Hama and Aleppo and capture new areas
The Military Operations Department continue its advance in Aleppo province for the fifth day of the “Deterrence of Aggression” after entering the city and seizing control of large parts of its neighborhoods during the previous two days.
The Syrian National Army factions within the “Dawn of Freedom” operation took control of new villages, including Ehres, Jijan, Helisa, in addition to Tal Riffat town which is considered a strategic center, and they also seized heavy military equipment, including tanks and artilleries.
Within the “Deterrence of Aggression” operation, the factions have made a significant progress in northern Hama countryside, as they captured many villages such as Al-Sha’atha, Al-Talisiyah, and Jabal Shahshabo, in addition to the Aleppo-Hama international road.
Th Assad and Russian war planes stepped up the airstrikes on the residential neighborhoods and vital facilities in Aleppo and Idleb governorates, killing dozens of people, just in Idleb 37 civilians were killed and 150 others were injured in airstrikes targeting schools, markets, and residential neighborhoods.
The “White Helmets” reported that the civilian casualties have climbed due to the frequent airstrikes, and pointed out that 56 civilians have been killed and 238 injured since the start of the recent military operations.
The Military Operations Department announced the capture of more than 65 members of the Assad regime forces on various fighting fronts, in addition to the killing of 6 prominent officers during battles in the Aleppo countryside. The Assad regime was also attacked by drones targeting its gatherings in Hama, which led to the killing of Brigadier General Uday Ghassa, the head of the Military Security Branch.
The British newspaper “The Guardian” raised fears that the Assad regime might resort to using chemical weapons in northwestern Syria. At the same time, the United States, France, Britain, and Germany called for de-escalation and protecting civilians, while emphasizing the urgent need for a political solution in accordance with UNSCR 2254.
The Israeli newspaper “Haaretz” reported that Iran began sending military reinforcements to Syria to support the Assad regime to face the opposition advance, while Russian forces announced their continued support for Assad regime forces on the axes of Idleb, Hama and Aleppo.
