Nasr al-Hariri meets with the leader of Iraqi Kurdistan to discuss developments in the Syrian file
The head of the Syrian National Coalition, Nasr al-Hariri, met with leader Massoud Barzani in Erbil, the capital of the Kurdistan region of Iraq, to discuss developments in the Syrian file.
Hariri said: “Leader Barzani’s positions are firm towards the Syrian revolution, and it has a great role in supporting the Syrian people and their demands for deliverance from the criminal regime, and supporting their aspirations for freedom and dignity,” as he put it.
He added, “The National Coalition is keen to continue the distinguished relationship with the region in order to face the serious challenges in the region, especially in Syria, which are represented by the Assad regime forces, Iranian militias and terrorist organizations.”
“The Syrian revolution is for the sake of all Syrians in all their diversity,” Hariri emphasized, “and recalled its heroism and martyrs, among whom was the martyr Meshaal Tammo, who sacrificed his blood for the sake of the freedom and dignity of the Syrian people,” as he described it.
For his part, Leader Barzani stressed the need to continue supporting the Syrian people in their revolution in order to achieve all their aspirations for freedom and dignity, and to support the National Coalition with all its components.
On the issue of Syrian refugees in the region, Barzani welcomed them again, stressing that “the region is always open to the Syrian brothers and neighbors.”
Barzani concluded that the international conflict in Syria, in addition to the ongoing intransigence of the regime, exacerbated the state of intractability and reduced the chances of a solution, calling for confronting “terrorist” organizations.
