Turkish food aid for 1,350 poor and displaced Yemeni families
A Yemeni relief association revealed, on Tuesday, that two Turkish associations have provided food aid to more than 11,000 Yemenis representing 1,350 poor and displaced Yemeni families in a number of governorates of the country.
The Yemeni Humanitarian Access Association (non-governmental) stated in a statement, on Tuesday, that a copy of it reached Anadolu Agency, that it distributed food baskets that include “flour, rice, sugar, oil and dates, in the governorates of Abyan, Aden, and Amanat Al-Asimah, to 4,500 individuals representing 750 poor families.
She indicated that this aid is provided by the Turkish “Deniz Feneri” Association.
In the same context, the Yemeni Association stated that it had distributed Ramadan aid funded by the Turkish “Sadaqa Tashi” organization, benefiting 6,600 Yemenis in three governorates.
She indicated that the aid included distributing Ramadan food baskets made of rice, sugar, flour, oil, dates and vegetables to 600 poor and displaced families, in addition to providing breakfast for 300 individuals in the governorates of Ma’rib, Sana’a and Al-Amanah.
She pointed out that the aid provided by the two Turkish associations, which were distributed during the last ten days of Ramadan, contributed to alleviating the suffering of the beneficiary families and supporting them in overcoming the difficulties they face in providing the basic requirements for their living.
Turkey provides relief and development projects and programs through relief organizations and agencies in various Yemeni governorates, which are experiencing difficult humanitarian conditions as a result of the ongoing war in the country for seven years.
