Including Syria.. The United Nations allocates 130 million dollars to support relief operations
The United Nations said on Monday that it had allocated $135 million to continue efforts to deliver humanitarian aid to the Middle East, Latin America and Africa.
The United Nations Under-Secretary-General for Humanitarian Affairs, Mark Lowcock, announced in a statement, “The amount will finance humanitarian operations in 12 countries of the three regions.”
According to the statement, “the funding will be distributed to humanitarian organizations in Syria (20 million dollars), and 33 million dollars will be distributed to Nigeria, Afghanistan and South Sudan, and 20 million dollars will be allocated to fund relief work in the Democratic Republic of the Congo and Ethiopia, and Tigray will receive 13 million dollars.
The statement added, “It will receive humanitarian relief operations in Madagascar ($8 million), $7 million in Venezuela, and $14 million for each of Chad and Burkina Faso, distributed equally.”
He added, “10 million dollars will be allocated to a group of projects that focus on programming for people with disabilities.”
