Idlib Health Directorate expresses its satisfaction with the extension of entering aid into northern Syria
The Idlib Health Directorate expressed in a statement today, Sunday, its satisfaction with the extension of the mechanism for the entry of humanitarian aid into northern Syria across the border for a year, divided into two phases.
The directorate noted that its fears of the Russian side’s approval of the extension decision is that the Russian blackmail of the members of the Security Council has paid off, and gave them, along with the Assad regime, a role in the file of international aid in the future, which means obstructing the entry of humanitarian aid into northern Syria.
The directorate stressed that the renewal of the decision to introduce humanitarian aid across the border has a fundamental role in saving the lives of millions of civilians in northwestern Syria, who are suffering catastrophic humanitarian conditions, but such measures remain temporary solutions, and permanent solutions must be found, ensuring the continued flow of aid. far from international restrictions.
The Directorate stressed the need to increase the capabilities of the medical sector in northern Syria to continue providing life-saving medical services to civilians
It is worth noting that the UN Security Council unanimously approved, on Friday, a draft resolution prepared by “Russia, the United States, Ireland and Norway” on the task of delivering humanitarian aid to Syria across the border, extending the work of the Bab al-Hawa crossing on the Syrian-Turkish border for an additional 12 months, provided that it presents The Secretary-General of the United Nations, after 6 months, reported on the work of the mechanism for the transfer of humanitarian aid.
