Israeli Prime Minister: The Lebanese state is on the verge of collapse
At the weekly cabinet meeting, Israeli Prime Minister Naftali Bennett warned that the Lebanese state is on the verge of collapse, like all countries seized by Iran, as he put it.
Bennett explained that Israel is closely following the situation in Lebanon, and said that “it must be realized that the Lebanese are paying a heavy price because of Iran’s seizure of their country.”
Bennett noted that Israel sent messages in this regard to the United States, urging it to support the Lebanese army to prevent the collapse of the Lebanese state, according to his claim.
Meanwhile, a security official said: “The collapse of the Lebanese state strengthens Iran and Hezbollah’s control over Lebanon,” according to what the Israeli news agency Walla reported.
The security official added that the recent period has witnessed dangerous transformations in Lebanon, “most notably Hezbollah’s continued development of the precision missile project that threatens the home front, power stations and infrastructure in Israel.”
