Health Directorate of the Assad regime records 8 new infections with Coronavirus and raises the deaths to 1,902 cases
The Assad regime’s Ministry of Health announced the registration of 8 new cases of coronavirus in its areas of control, bringing the total number to 25,814.
The ministry said: “5 cases of recovery were recorded, bringing the total to 21,901 cases, while an infected person died, bringing the total number of deaths to 1,902,” according to a statement issued by the Ministry of Health of the Assad regime.
The infections were distributed as (1 in Damascus, 1 in the countryside of Damascus , 3 in As-Suwayda, 1 in Aleppo, 1 in Homs, and 1 in Tartous), and as for the registered death case, it said that it was in the Hama governorate in central Syria.
The Early Warning and Epidemic Response Network of the Support Coordination Unit did not issue an update on Corona virus infections in the northern Syrian regions.
Corona’s outcome in northern Syria reached 26,082 infections, 717 deaths and 22,936 recoveries, and the outcome remained unrefreshed in the “Spring of Peace” areas, northeastern Syria, where it stopped at 2,077 infections and 24 deaths.
In addition, the Health Authority of the Syrian Democratic Forces, in northern and eastern Syria, did not record new infections, and thus the outcome stopped at 18,574 infections, 764 deaths and 1,881 recoveries.
It should be noted that the Assad regime is taking advantage of the outbreak of the epidemic in its areas of control and continues to ignore health measures, while warnings about the repercussions of the outbreak of the pandemic in northern Syria are mounting due to the overcrowding in the region, especially in displacement camps.
