A new displacement movement from the villages of Jabal Al-Zawiya towards safe areas
Villages and areas of Jabal al-Zawiya in the southern countryside of Idlib witnessed a new displacement of dozens of families residing in the area, due to the increased frequency of shelling on residential areas.
Yesterday, Sunday, the Syria Response Coordinator team said that the people are migrating towards relatively safe villages and towns, and to camps far from areas adjacent to the military operations, after many civilians were killed and wounded, most of whom are women and children.
The team warned against the continuation of the military escalation in the area, which, if it continues, will expand the displacement cases, and cause an increase in population density in the area in general, and in the camps in particular, in light of the lack of preventive measures against the “Corona” virus with the high rate of infection cases in Region.
The areas of northwest Syria (the southern countryside of Idlib in Jabal al-Zawiya in particular) have witnessed a violent escalation campaign since the beginning of last June, which left dozens of civilian martyrs and wounded, amid the continuation of the escalation, at a time when the results of the Russian-Turkish understandings regarding the fate of the area, which shelter tens of thousands of civilians, were not clear .
