Russia delivers 160 tons of medical aid to the Assad regime
Yesterday, Saturday evening, a Russian plane arrived at Damascus International Airport carrying 160 tons of medical aid, which included 250,000 doses of the “Sputnik Light” vaccine against Corona, and one million PCR tests.
Mikhail Mizntsev, head of the National Defense Administration Center, said that “his country’s support for the Assad regime continues, as it is a reliable ally and strategic partner of Russia in the Middle East,” as he said.
For his part, the Minister of Local Administration and Environment in the “Assad government”, Hussein Makhlouf, said “this aid comes as a continuation of the close cooperation between the two countries in all fields.”
It is noteworthy that this aid comes at a time when the Assad regime’s regions are recording more infections and deaths from the Corona virus, according to the latest statistics that were recorded, where Russia has been standing by the Assad regime in all fields since its military intervention against the opposition in late 2015.
