Because of the situation in Daraa, Jordan closes Nassib border crossing with Syria
Yesterday, Saturday, the Jordanian government announced the closure of the Jaber Nassib border crossing with Syria due to the developments in the field in Daraa Governorate.
According to the Jordan News Agency, Petra, an official source in the Jordanian Ministry of Interior confirmed that: Jaber border crossing will be temporarily closed to the movement of goods and passengers as a result of the developments in the security situation on the Syrian side.
The official added that “the border crossing between Syria and Jordan will be reopened, if the appropriate conditions are created,” without specifying a date.
The “Nassib-Jaber” crossing was opened in October 2018, three years after it was closed as the revolutionary factions took control of the area, as relations between Jordan and Syria were severed after that, only to return to “understandings” between the two parties again after the Assad regime forces took control of the crossing.
