Russian air strikes target Afrin area for the first time since 2018
This morning, Tuesday, Russian warplanes targeted with several air strikes the vicinity of Afrin city, northwest of Aleppo.
Fresh correspondent said that the Russian warplanes targeted, with five strikes, the surroundings of Iskan village of Jandris district in the countryside of Afrin city, causing significant material damage in the targeted places, but casualties have been reported.
This is the first time that Russian warplanes have attacked Afrin region since the Turkish army and the National Army factions entered it at the beginning of 2018, under the “Olive Branch” operation.
Afrin is subjected to repeated artillery and missile shelling from the areas controlled by the Assad regime and the Syrian Democratic Forces. Six civilians, including four children, were wounded, yesterday, monday, as a result of artillery shelling.
