After the Assad regime significantly raised fuel prices, the residents of As-Suwayda Governorate, with the approach of winter, turned to cutting firewood as an alternative method of heating.
The loyal “Suwayda 24” network said, “There are no other ways for heads of families to protect their families from the bitter cold when it occupies the governorate’s atmosphere.”
She added, “The failure of the government (the Assad regime) to provide heating supplies such as fuel oil or provide electricity has pushed needy citizens to turn to forest wealth.”
He considers that some community activities in the city demanded to stop targeting the forest wealth.
Food prices in Syria have increased nearly fivefold over the past few years, prompting families to make difficult concessions on some of the basics of life.
