Missiles from Syrian territories land in the Golan and the Israeli army responds to the attack

The Israeli army targeted on Tuesday-Wednesday night military sites of the Assad regime in Daraa and Quneitra provinces in southern Syria.

This attack came after the Israeli army announced that mortar shells landed in Syria’s occupied Golan, according to Reuters agency.

Reuters agency said: “A Palestinian faction in southern Syria launched three missiles towards Israeli army’s positions in Syria’s Golan.”

The “Ahrar Houran Gathering” stated that the source of the missile shelling was from “Abdeen Brigade,” west of Daraa city, towards the occupied “Tal al-Faras” area in Golan, pointing out that some of the shells fired by the Israeli army fell in the areas of Saisun and Wadi Jamla in Daraa.

Reuters considered that this shelling between Israel and the Assad regime and its backed factions raises fears that it might lead to a wider war, especially since the Israeli army is exchanging fire across the border with the Hezbollah militia coinciding with confrontations and battles with “Hamas” movement in Palestine.

The Izz al-Din al-Qassam Brigades, the armed wing of the Islamic Resistance Movement “Hamas,” launched a large-scale military operation against Israel on Saturday morning, October 7, 2023, called “Al-Aqsa Storm,” in response to the ongoing attacks launched by the occupation forces against the Palestinians.
