deaths and injuries in a car bomb targeted a Russian military base north of Raqqa
Yesterday evening, Thursday, a car bomb targeted a Russian base in the town of Tal Samen, north of Raqqa, which is controlled by the Syrian Democratic Forces, in an attack that was the first of its kind since Russia’s military intervention in Syria.
Fresh Online correspondent reported that a car bomb targeted a military base for the Russian forces in the town of “Tal Samen,” which resulted in deaths and injuries among the forces, without any news of their number, and indicated that clashes with automatic weapons took place after targeting the base.
The reporter added that the “Guardians of Religion” organization adopted this operation, which is considered its first in the Raqqa governorate, according to a statement by the organization saying: “A company of it managed to raid a den of the occupying Russian forces in Tal Al-Samen in the Raqqa governorate.”
There was no comment from Russia or the Assad regime confirming or denying the attack at the time of writing this report. This attack coincides with tensions taking place east of the Euphrates in the “Peace Spring” area, specifically the Ain Issa axis, between the Syrian National Army on the one hand and the Syrian Democratic Forces on the other hand, amid Russian attempts to entrench itself in order to prevent a new Turkish military operation against those units
