Safadi calls for a political solution to the Syrian crisis
The Jordanian Foreign Minister called for the need to intensify efforts to reach a political solution to the Syrian crisis that preserves Syria’s unity and cohesion, eliminates terrorism, restores its security and stability, and creates conditions for the voluntary return of refugees.
Ayman Safadi stressed during a meeting with the US special envoy to Syria, Joel Rayburn, “the need for an active Arab role in efforts to solve the Syrian crisis, and the importance of stabilizing stability and providing the necessary humanitarian assistance to alleviate the suffering of Syrians, especially in southern Syria.”
Al-Safadi clarified that there is no military solution to the Syrian crisis, and that a political solution is the only way to end the tragedy that caused destruction, devastation and killing. They must stop.
The two sides also affirmed the two countries ’keenness to enhance bilateral relations, develop cooperation and coordination in efforts to solve regional crises and establish security and stability.
The US envoy to Syria, Joel Rayburn, said: America will impose sanctions on non -Syrians, within the Caesar Act for their assistance to the Assad regime, and affirmed his country’s commitment to help meet the humanitarian needs and build the stability and security necessary for a better future for the Syrian people.
The US State Department said in a statement that the US special envoy to Syria, Joel Rayburn, discussed the Syrian crisis, during a tour in which he visited “Turkey, Egypt, Bahrain, Israel and the northeastern region of Syria,” which started on November 28.
