Tents for the displaced were destroyed by the rainstorm that hit northwest Syria
For the second day in a row, heavy rains fell on the camps for the displaced in the northern and western countryside of Idlib, amid pleas from the residents of the affected camps to help them.
Fresh Online reporter said: many of the camps belonging to the town of Kafr Arrouq in the northern countryside of Idlib, and the town of Batbu in the western countryside of Aleppo, and others near the city of Harem, were flooded due to the rainstorm that hit the area.
And a video broadcast by activists on social media showed the demolition of a tent built of bricks and cement as a result of the torrents that formed as the rainstorm intensified.
The rainstorm, which is still continuing, caused the formation of torrents and affected many camps in the rural areas of Idlib and Aleppo, in light of renewed calls for organizations to consider the situation of the residents of the tents in the winter season.
In a previous statement, the Syria Response Coordinators Group had appealed to the humanitarian organizations and the concerned international bodies to provide urgent and immediate assistance to the displaced people living in camps and informal settlements in northwestern Syria, and called on organizations urgently to assume their humanitarian and moral responsibility towards the displaced, with the onset of winter.
