Israeli bombing targets Iranian militia sites in the vicinity of Damascus
Yesterday evening, Sunday, the Israeli warplanes targeted the sites of the Assad regime and Iranian militias in the vicinity of the capital, Damascus.
SANA, affiliated with the Assad regime, quoted a military source as saying that “at 10.16 pm today (Sunday) the Israeli enemy carried out an aerial bombardment from the direction of the occupied Syrian Golan, targeting some targets in the vicinity of Damascus, and our air defense media intercepted the aggression’s missiles and dropped most of them.”
According to their claim.
Israeli Channel 13 said that the bombing came in response to the targeting of a ship owned by an Israeli company in the Gulf of Oman last Thursday.
The ship, called MV Helios Ray, was hit in the Gulf of Oman between Thursday and Friday morning.
A US defense official said the blast created holes in the sides of the hull.
On Saturday, Israeli Defense Minister Benny Gantz told the Israel Broadcasting Corporation (Kan) that his “initial assessment” was that Iran was responsible for the explosion that targeted an Israeli-owned ship in the Gulf of Oman.
It is noteworthy that the Israeli air strikes frequently launched air strikes on the sites of the Assad regime and Iranian militias in Syria, and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu had confirmed that Israel would not accept the presence of Iranian militias in Syria.
