Washington intends to continue working with Turkey on the Syrian file
The US State Department confirmed, “Washington intends to continue working with Turkey on the Syrian issue, especially the Idlib file, and they agreed on the future of the Assad regime.”
“We will continue to work constructively with Turkey to implement our common interests in Syria,” State Department spokesman Ned Price said.
This came in response to a question about the possibility that the Biden administration will work with Turkey when it comes to Idlib.
“We have common interests with Turkey, and we will continue to work constructively with it in order to achieve those interests when it comes to Syria,” added Price.
He concluded by saying: “A little more than a year ago, 33 Turkish soldiers lost their lives to protect innocent Syrian civilians in Idlib, from the brutality of the Assad regime and its Russian and Iranian supporters,” as he put it.
