Vice President of the National Coalition: We held an event to support the empowerment of Syrian women
Yesterday, Wednesday, the Office of the National Coalition of Syrian Revolution and Opposition Forces held an event on the occasion of International Women’s Day, at its headquarters in the city of Azaz in the countryside of Aleppo, northern Syria.
In an exclusive interview with Fresh Online, the Vice President of the National Coalition, Ruba Habboush, said, “The bodies that attended the event were: the Foundation for Support and Empowerment of Women, the Support and Empowerment of Women Unit, Families for Freedom, the Political Commission in Idlib, the Women’s Cultural Committee, the Vice President of the Union

Habboush added: “We are trying to extend bridges of communication with these bodies and institutions and build partnerships with them, and we are also working on the presence of women in political bodies, community leaders and decision-making positions. Therefore, we established the Women’s Office in the liberated areas, and we carry out continuous activities and workshops in many political fields.
Social and economic ”.
She explained, “These bodies work according to their limited capabilities to support and empower Syrian women, and their work is not relief, but rather their work is focused on supporting and empowering women socially, economically and politically.”
The event concluded with remembrance of Syrian women in prisons and detention centers, and it was emphasized to continue calling on the international community to force the Assad regime to reveal their fate, extend a helping hand to survivors and support women’s organizations working in various regions of Syria.
