215 new infections with the Corona virus in northern Syria

The Epidemiological Surveillance Laboratory of the Early Warning and Epidemic Response Network (EWARN) program in the Support Coordination Unit recorded 215 new cases of coronavirus in the liberated north of Syria.

The informant confirmed that the new infections raised the total number to 24,433, recoveries 21,114 cases, and 685 deaths, with the number of those who received the known vaccine exceeding 12 thousand.

He pointed out that the number of cases tested during 1071, bringing the total number of cases tested to 142,934 in northern Syria.

Among the infections, 51 cases of displaced people inside the camps, (29%) of the new cases, and no new deaths were recorded during the past 24 hours, and 5 of the previous deaths were classified as deaths related to Covid-19 disease by the Health Information System Unit.

The “Syria Vaccine Team SIG” said that the number of people vaccinated with the Covid-19 vaccine until 08-06-2021 in northwestern Syria in the governorates of Aleppo and Idlib, amounted to 18,784.

This came after vaccinating 10,332 health workers, 7,988 human workers, and 464 people with one or more chronic diseases.
