Response Coordinators: Civilians must abide by preventive measures against the Corona virus in northern Syria
The Syria Response Coordinator Team warned the civilian population in northern Syria of the rapid spread of the Corona virus, especially in the displacement camps, which are witnessing a significant increase in the number of infections.
In an exclusive interview with Fresh Online, the Director of the Response Coordinators Team, Muhammad Hallaj, said: “The acceleration of the spread of the Corona virus in northern Syria is a major reason for the increase in the number of infections, as they were concentrated in the camps for the displaced and the surrounding areas, such as Harem, Afrin, Al-Bab, Jarablus and the Idlib city area“.
Hallaj added: “The most important reasons for the acceleration of the spread of the virus is the people’s recklessness and the absence of preventive measures,” noting that “the infections in March became almost zero, but they rose again in April, May and June of this year.”
He called on the people in the displacement camps to adhere to the preventive measures (wearing a mask – washing hands well and sterilizing them – and social distancing) from the Corona virus, stressing the support of the people by humanitarian organizations with cleaning materials, sterilizers, and drinking water after it was cut off from 340 camps.
Speaking about the vaccination of medical personnel with the Corona virus vaccine in northern Syria, Hallaj stressed, “The infections in these cadres have become somewhat few, and this has led to a slowdown in the spread of the virus in its second wave.”
