Civil Defense confirms the continuation of its teams to help civilians and warns of a humanitarian catastrophe
The Syrian Civil Defense announced that its teams are continuing to assist civilians in northwest Syria despite the intense bombing by the Assad regime forces and Russia, warning of a humanitarian catastrophe.
And the Civil Defense said, in a statement, yesterday, Saturday: “Our work in helping civilians continues despite all the risks we are exposed to, and this targeting and what preceded it will not deter us from our humanitarian work.”
Yesterday’s targeting was considered a crime to be added to the record of systematic crimes committed by the Assad regime and its Russian ally against first responders, including humanitarian workers, rescuers and paramedics.
The Civil Defense warned that the Assad regime and Russia’s continuation of the policy of killing only for the sake of killing and the frequent targeting of the Syrian Civil Defense teams and their centers leads to a deterioration of the humanitarian situation in northwestern Syria and a major humanitarian catastrophe.
The Civil Defense added that this targeting indicates an attempt to kill all forms and steadfastness of civilians in the southern countryside of Idlib and the Al-Ghab Plain, keeping the area in a state of fear and instability and pushing civilians to flee to the camps.
Yesterday, the Assad regime targeted, with laser-guided “Krasnopol” missiles, the town of Sarjah in Jabal al-Zawiya, which led to the death of 6 civilians, including a media volunteer in the Syrian Civil Defense.
